IWC Watchspotting @Airtrophy Knokke

Airplanes, beaches, booze and watches. This could have been a new Post Malone track. In fact, it’s a short description of the air rally I spectated in Knokke, Belgium.

The air trophy had a STOL competition. What is STOL? STOL is an acronym for a Short Take-Off and Landing aircraft, which have short runway requirements for take-off and landing.

Watch this link and you will get it.

To be honest, it kind of is the most boring sport you could do with an airplane.
On the other hand, a sport which involves airplanes will always be cooler than any sport with a ball, racket or bicycle.

Anywho, I was invited by a friend who knew some people over at IWC. Of course we went for the watches, and oh boy was this a watchspotting paradise.

A handwound IWC Portuguese 8 days, worn by el jefe from Heursel.
IWC Pilot, worn by a fellow photographer.
The sexiest IWC Portofino 8 days I have ever seen.
IWC Portuguese tourbillon in platinum, the winner of the event.
Jeager leCoultre tourbillon, custom made by Jeager, owned and worn by the wife of the man with the platinum tourbillon from the previous picture. Couple goals. Apologies for the blurry picture.
White gold Rolex Daytona with diamond hour markers. Full interview with the owner coming soon.
IWC Portofino chronograph.
The brand new chocolate IWC Big Pilot Annual calendar.

A big thanks to IWC and Heursel for having me!
